Real Madrid captain Ramos pays tribute to Ronaldo

A delighted Real Madrid capatin Sergio Ramos noted after his side's performance against APOEL that his team had been lacking goals recently and hailed the retruning Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo, playing in his first official match since the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup due to a five-match suspension, bagged a brace and Sergio Ramos added another goal in Los Blancos' first step in the pursuit of a 13th European crown.

In the absence of Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio, goalscoring duties fell to Ronaldo who didn't disappoint and Ramos says the European goal king's level is unquestionable.

"It's true that there has been a shortage of goals. But not all matches can be won.

"It's true that Cris always scores and is fundamental. His level is unquestionable." said Ramos as quoted in MARCA

Ronaldo who has now scored more home goals (55) than any other player in Champions League history (Lionel Messi, 54) has also scored more penalties (12) than any other player in Champions League history (Lionel Messi, 11).
