Real Madrid fan was killed as he celebrates Los Blancos qualification to this year UEFA Champions League final in Kiev on Tuesday night according to report.
The 24-year-old man Angolan was identified as Jota was reportedly killed by a policeman in Huíla Province, about 904km south of Luanda.
According to the state-owned Televisao Publica de Angola (TPA) confirmed Thursday the young man was celebrating Real's Tuesday qualification in the expense Bundesliga giants with friends when they annoyed the policeman who shot him dead.
It quoted an eyewitnesses
as saying that the Real Madrid fans had organised
a party to celebrate the Spanish team's qualification.
"The police officer quarrelled
with Jota over the qualification and killed him,” the eyewitness was quoted.
Huila Province police spokesperson Carlos Alberto confirmed the incident and said that the alleged killer was arrested and would be prosecuted.
Real Madrid reached the coveted Champions League final for the third year in a row after 2-2 semi-final second leg draw gave them a 4-3 aggregate over the German side.
The mineral-rich Huila Province is home to many people of diverse backgrounds with a majority of who are ardent football lovers.
Real Madrid will take on Liverpool in the final at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine on May 26.
