Real Madrid fans call for Florentino Perez's head

Real Madrid fans are calling for the resignation of president Florentino Perez for the team's poor run of form this season.

The European Champions won their first game of the season against Leganes in the Copa del Rey first leg of the semi-final having suffered a defeat against Real Sociedad and a draw against Villareal in their last La Liga games.

The fans have now turned to president Perez and held him responsible for the woes that befall the club, there were chants of “Florentino, dimisión” (Florentino, resign) from a group of fans above the press box.

Prez has no plan to resign yet as he aims to solve the issue surrounding Real Madrid, way back in 2016 he sacked Rafael Benitez and brought Zinedine Zidane to take charge of the first team and this time he has played the same card by sacking Julen Lopetegui and he gave Santiago Solari an opportunity.

The decision to sack Lopetegui and install Solari has not really convinced the Bernabeu fans, the recent result has seen them dropped ten points behind Barcelona in the La Liga but active in the Champions League and the Copa Del Rey.

The fans want the president to step down despite securing four Champions Leagues in five seasons, Perez is running out of credit amid the club’s current crisis. He needs to find the solution to the current issues surrounding the club as the attendance is also on the decline at the Bernabeu.
