Real Madrid has ruled out signing a replacement for Dani Carvajal despite the defender’s long lay-off due to his heart condition, according to reports in Spanish outlets.
Carvajal was diagnosed with a pericarditis heart infection which is affecting the membrane enclosing his heart, which is difficult viral infection to treat.
Reports suggest the 25-year-old will face a minimum of two months out but Marca now report they will not seek to sign a replacement for the full-back.
Achraf Hakimi took his place for the victory over Espanyol and he reportedly will be given the opportunity to continue in the Spanish international's absence.
Nacho Fernandez, the versatile defender, is also set to cover for Carvajal pending the time he will make a return to the starting line-up.
Real Madrid will take a trip to Coliseum Alfonso Perez to face Getafe for their next La Liga game.
