Real Madrid is set to raid Premier League for five players as Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is set to bolster the squad so as to challenge for the La Liga and the Champions League.
The European champions have not been able to show the level of performance they displayed last two seasons that saw them win the Champions League back to back, the La Liga and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Zinedine Zidane men are eight points behind arch-rivals Barcelona in the La Liga and where comfortably thrashed by Girona and Tottenham Hotspur in the League and in the Champions League respectively.
Real and Barca set to battle for Manchester City prodigy
The recent slump in form for Real Madrid has put coach Zinedine Zidane under pressure, but many are pointing to the club’s transfer window as the reason for their recent downfall.
Real Madrid last summer transfer dealings saw them lost senior players such as Pepe, James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata coupled with Gareth Bale's injury woes.
Perez has sought out young talent as he looks to build a Galactico team rather than buy one.
Some of Spain’s brightest stars are amongst their ranks, including Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Jesus Vallejo and Marco Llorente, Asensio seems to be the only one so far to emerge as a potential world-class star.
And Perez is said to be running out of patience, and, according to Diario Gol, is preparing to raid the Premier League for five stars in January.

His shortlist includes Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United’s Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Liverpool’s Emre Can.
All five players have their contracts up in the summer, so Perez is looking for a cut-price deal for them all.
Along the five Premier League stars are Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij, Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa and Atletico Madrid duo Lucas Hernandez and Jose Gimenez are also on Real Madrid’s radar.
