Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric heaped praises on Liverpool for their good run of form in the Champions League this season.

Liverpool made it to the finals of the Champions League after defeating Portuguese Champions FC Porto in the second round, Manchester City in the quarter-final and AS Roma in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Modric is of the view that many pundits have written off Jurgen Klopp’s men ahead of the final against Real Madrid in Kiev in Ukraine.

The Reds defeated Manchester City in a home and away clash before an emphatic win over the Roma and also emerge as the competition’s highest-scoring team, having scored 40 goals while Real Madrid has scored 30 goals.

"They weren't one of the favourites," the Croatian midfielder said about Klopp's side.

"But when you look at the matches they've played you see that they deserve to be in the final.

"They're a good team, they have a great coach and a very difficult match awaits us. But we will be prepared."
