Real Madrid is set to meet the buyout clause for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak and the European Champions are set to outbid Liverpool for the signature of the Slovenian.

Real Madrid signed Theo Hernandez from their neighbours last season and they are keen on signing the La Liga best goalkeeper Oblak.

Liverpool has been trying to bring the Slovenia international to Anfield, says A Bola, but unlike Real Madrid, they're unwilling to meet Oblak's buyout clause which put Real Madrid in the driving seat.

The European Champions are prepared to pay the €100m needed to sign Oblak out of his Atletico contract - and in the process avoid any club-to-club negotiations.

Oblak has the final decision and talks over a new deal with the Wanda Metropolitano outfit have stalled over time but his current contract will expire in 2021. Real Madrid want a goalkeeper to provide competition for Keylor Navas who in the starting line-up.

Oblak  was part of the team that lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final of 205/16 season and won the Europa League with Atletico Madrid last season
