Real Madrid is set to offer Croatian midfielder to Chelsea, according to a report in Spanish media.

The European Champions want to loan out Mateo Kovacic to Chelsea following the Croatian player stance to quit the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea has agreed a loan move for the Kovacic, the Croatian international will move to Stamford Bridge following the player telling the European champions he would not return to training in order to force an exit.

Kovacic has spoken to Julen Lopetegui after his return from World Cup about his desire to leave the Real Madrid in order to get the first-team opportunity and play regular time.

The Croat has started only 37 La Liga games across three seasons and started only 10 in his most recent campaign.

Kovacic joined the European champions from Inter in 2015 in a €35m deal, having originally cost the Milanese giants €11m from Dinamo Zagreb.
