Antoine Griezmann has informed Atletico Madrid pf his desire to quit the club and he has subsequently informed his teammates of his desire to leave the Wanda Metropolitano at the end of the season.
The France striker had a meeting with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Someone and president Miguel Gil Marin of his desire to move on and everything points toward Griezmann joining forces with the La Liga Champions Barcelona.
Griezmann's release clause, at present, is 200 million euros after he signed a new contract with Atletico just last summer.

However, that figure drops to 120m euros from July 1. As such, Los Rojiblancos will receive 96m euros from the deal as Real Sociedad retained a 20 per cent sell-on fee so La Real will be given the remaining 24m euros.
Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid in 2014 from Real Sociedad and he believes it is an end of an era for Atletico Madrid with his compatriot Lucas Hernandez securing a move to Bayern Munich and team captain Diego Godin moving to Serie A outfit Inter Milan at the end of the season, Griezmann believes it is time to seek a new challenge.
Simeone will be left with no option than to sign a striker to replace Barcelona bound Griezmann.
