REPORT: Luis Enrique to step down as Spain manager

Luis Enrique is prepared to step down as Spain manager, The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales will announce that the Asturian will be stepping down from his position, following his personal issue that has deterred him for performing his duties, according to report in Marca.

The former Barcelona manager has made the decision to step down as the manager of the team and he has given the Rubiales the go-ahead to name a successor to take charge of the La Furia Roja.

His assistant Robert Moreno has been the one standing in for the former AS Roma and Celta Vigo manager since Enrique will have to deal with his personal issue.

Moreno has maintained a close relationship with the players and he will now be given the opportunity to take charge with his contract lasting until after the European Championship in 2020.

Enrique was in charge of Spain for just 11 months.
