The 31-year-old Roma striker and his agent could see the deal delayed as they try to find a solution to a major obstacle to the deal which is preventing the former Manchester City striker to seal his move to the Stamford Bridge.

According to Bosnian journalist Haris Mrkonja, Dzeko's move is being held up due to a visa problem as reported by Daily Star

“He claims he still isn't in London, and still waiting for his British visa.

“Contacts with Chelsea proceed over the phone.

“Only when he gets his visa he'll be able to travel to London.”

Dzeko was on the scoresheet for Roma on Wednesday night against Sampdoria in the Serie A, he is likely to sign for Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.

Chelsea has been linked with a host of surprising strikers in the past weeks with the likes of Andy Carroll of WestHam, Leicester City forward Islam Slimani, Stoke City forward Peter Crouch and Burnley striker Ashley Barnes all have been touted as potential new arrivals in west London.

Chelsea is in need of competition for Alvaro Morata who is struggling to get the required goals while Belgian attacker Michy Batshuayi has refused to convince manager Antonio Conte with his performance.
