Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla says Chelsea, pushed by manager Maurizio Sarri, made a frantic late bid for Fekir on Thursday.
Chelsea offered €60m cash before also including an unnamed player in a swap for the midfielder, but both proposals were rejected by OL president Jean Michel Aulas.
Aulas was determined to keep hold of Fekir, especially with no club meeting his €75m valuation.
