The major reason why Alvaro Morata left Real Madrid for Chelsea during the last summer transfer has been revealed.
Morata has no regrets swapping Real Madrid for the Premier League Champions, Zinedine Zidane’s team have experienced some issues in the attack this season, with injury to Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale and suspension to Cristiano Ronaldo for his indecent behavior against an official.
Considering the problems encountered by the Real Madrid Morata knows they will count on him to lead the attack if he had stayed back.
However, Diario Gol says a conversation he had with coach Zinedine Zidane at the end of last season was the main reason for his departure last summer.
Zidane informed him that if he wished to stay he had to accept the fact that Karim Benzema would always be selected ahead of him in the selection pecking order.
What's more, Zidane suggested to Morata if he refused to accept the role it would be better if he found himself a new club.
Morata has been a big hit at the Stamford Bridge since his arrival, he hasn’t looked back and many Chelsea fans are already likening him to former Blues striker Diego Costa.
