The reason why Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is experiencing a dip in form has been revealed, according to a report in the Metro.
Salah suffered a career-threatening injury in the Champions League finals against Real Madrid after he locked his arm with Los Merengues defender Sergio Ramos during the final in Kiev.
In the opinion of Martin Keown, the attacker was forced to change his playing style as a result of the injury he suffered when he tangled with Real Madrid captain in Kiev.
The Egyptian forward damaged his shoulder after the collision but recovered to play for Egypt in the World Cup.
Salah has played all Liverpool matches this season in the Premier League and one in the Champions League but he is yet to rediscover the form that made him won the Premier League Player of the Year and the Premier League golden boot.
Salah was substituted against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League after his error led to PSG equaliser on Tuesday at the Anfield.
"Has Salah been the same since his shoulder was dislocated by Sergio Ramos"?
"Ever since he has seemed to be playing within himself. He lost possession 21 times against Paris Saint-Germain and it was his mistake that led to their equaliser. "He looks particularly reluctant to use his physicality to protect the ball.
Daniel Sturridge was far more effective in that regard, losing possession just seven times.
"Is Salah concerned about picking up another injury"? "Liverpool’s main man may not be firing on all cylinders but his team-mates seem to have raised their game by an extra 10 per cent to compensate".
"The fact they have still won their first six games of the season will strike fear into their rivals". Keown told the Daily Mail.
