Pep Guardiola appeared to decide against watching his former club Barcelona crash out of the Champions League as he was spotted wining and dining in some of Manchester's finest culinary destinations.

As Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League competition against Juventus last night, in 3-0 aggregate defeat, the club's former manager, Pep Guardiola was enjoying an evening at Tapeo and Wine, a restaurant owned by Juan Mata's father.

Having enjoyed dinner at the tapas bar popular with United and City players, Guardiola then made his way to rum bar Revolucion de Cuba, where he met a number of his backroom staff.

It was the last chance for the former Bayern Munich manager to enjoy a relaxing evening before the upcoming clash with Arsenal at Wembley Stadium.

Gaurdiola decided not to watch his beloved Barcelona in their Champions League Quarter-final match

Manchester City are looking to make their first FA Cup final since 2013 when they take on the Gunners on Sunday afternoon and it is for that reason why no first-team stars appear to have joined Guardiola on the town.

Barcelona's downfall came a day after Guardiola's other former side, Bayern Munich, were also were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by the holders Real Madrid.

While the Spaniard's failure to win the Champions League with the German side was widely noted, he at least guided them to three successive semi-finals.

That is a record his successor Carlo Ancelotti has failed to match as they were knocked out at the Bernabeu after an extra-time onslaught from Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo.
