Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has called up Enyimba FC defence stalwart Ifeanyi Anaemena to replace Bryan Idowu for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic’s Squirrels and Lesotho.

The 27-year-old Lokomotiv Moscow left-back who was part of the 23-man squad for the two fixtures will miss out due to passport issues as the People’s Elephant’s bulwark has been drafted in for the encounter at Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Anaemena was impressive for the Eagles B in their 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier against Togo at the Agege Stadium last month and has also been a key player for Enyimba, two –time CAF Champions League winners, as they reached the group phase of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup competition.

Nigeria welcome the Squirrels of Benin Republic to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on November 13 before heading to Maseru to face Crocodiles of Lesotho four days later.
