The Super Eagles might play a ‘send-forth’ match in Abuja before the World Cup next year in Abuja.
Coach Gernot Rohr has said he has asked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to arrange a pre-World Cup friendly in Abuja before the Super Eagles fly out to Russia 2018.
“I have told the NFF president to get us a friendly match to be played in Abuja to show them the 23 players selected for the World Cup and to say goodbye before leaving for Russia,” Rohr said.
He said he expects his team to play quality friendlies in the FIFA windows of November, March and May that will adequately prepare them for the Mundial.
He also said he expects the team to begin their World Cup training camp in Abuja.
The World Cup draw will be staged on December 1 in Russia.
The 2018 World Cup will be from June 14 to July 15.
