Iheanacho fights for possession

Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has revealed that Senegal were more physical than his side after they drew 1-1 in an international friendly played at The Hive, home ground of Barnet Football Club, in London.

Fenerbahçe forward Moussa Sow scored for the Teranga Lions nine minutes into the second half while Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho equalized for the three-time Africa Nations Cup champions just before the final whistle via a penalty.

However, the Eagles lost Ogenyi Onazi and Ahmed Musa to injuries during the encounter but Rohr believes that it is a very good learning curve for his wards as they continue preparation for the double-header game against Cameroon in the 2018 World Cup qualifier later in the year.

"We chose Senegal to prepare us for a physical Cameroon. We don't have the power of Senegal but we are learning and getting there," Rohr said after the match.

Nigeria will return to action on March 27 when they take on the Stallions of Burkina Faso at the same venue.
