Roma sporting director Monchi has explained the reason why the Italian outfit sold Mohamed Salah, according to report.

Salah was on song for Liverpool against his former club on Tuesday evening in their Champions League clash after the Egyptian forward scored a brace and provided two assists in the 5-2 win over Roma in the semifinals.

Monchi has explained that their hands were tied.

"We had to sell him one way or another before June 30, 2017, in order to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules,"
