Cristiano Ronaldo powered Juventus to the first title of the season following his 16th-minute header against AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana in Jeddah Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening.

The former Real Madrid attacker headed in a cross from Miralem Pjanic in the second half of the clash after the first half ended in a goalless draw.

Ronaldo has now scored 16 goals for the Bianconeri this season.

AC Milan fought hard as Patrick Cutrone’s effort was denied by the crossbar and to compound their woes Franck Kessie was sent off in the 74th minute of the clash.

Former Real Madrid and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain was introduced in the 70th minute as he replaced Samu Castillejo but the 31-year-old Argentine forward was unable to get the equaliser for Gennaro Gattuso’s men.

Higuain might secure a move to Chelsea before the end of the winter transfer period.
