Cristiano Ronaldo set to return to Juventus starting line-up is on Saturday encounter against Udinese despite the rape allegation according to club manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The 33-year-old Portugal international has been accused of raping model Kathryn Mayorga in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009, and state police have since confirmed they have reopened the investigation.

Ronaldo has denied the allegations and insists his conscience is ‘clear’, while current club Juventus publically and controversially backed their summer signing.

And Allegri has offered his own support for five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who watched the midweek win over Young Boys from the stands, and says he is unaffected by the allegations.

The  Italian coach explained ahead of Udinese encounter "I’ve known Cristiano for three months now.

"And for over 15 years of his career he has shown to be a great professional both on and off the pitch.

"He is ready to return to action on Saturday.

Ronaldo was also omitted from the latest Portugal national team squad for upcoming internationals football this month.
