Rostov 1–1 Man U: Mkhitaryan scores on return from injury

Henrikh Mkhitaryan returned from injury to scored Manchester United’s only goal in the 1-1 draw against Russian side, Rostov in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 game played this evening.

Red Devils manager, Jose Mourinho was worried about the pitch before the start of the match but his team showed no signs effect of the back surface in their build-up plays as they dominated the home side.

Rostov suffered an early injury to their side as Denis Terentyev replaced Granat, who picked up an injury after a collision with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

With the game approaching the end of the first half, the Armenian latched onto a fine pass from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and tapped into the net from close range to make it 1-0 and became the first Manchester United player to score in three successive European games since Wayne Rooney in March 2010.

The away side came into the second half more determined to finish the game and Ibrahimovic powered a right foot shot off target from 25yards.

However, the stadium came alive as the home side found a way back into the match when a fine pass from midfield located Bukharov, he took the ball well in the chest before volleying home to make it 1-1.
