See the reason why Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu may lose his first political appointment after the Supreme Court ruling against Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

The 43-year-old former Arsenal, Ajax, and Inter Milan star who began his football career Heartland FC was appointed as a Special Assistant on Sports to Imo State Governor Chukwuemeka Ihedioha on August 14 last year.

The apex court had sacked PDP 2019 governorship candidate Ihedioha and pronounce Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress as the rightful winner of the election despite coming fourth gubernatorial election race.

However, the latest political development Imo State will make Kanu lose his first political appointment since he retired from football as Special Assistant on Sports to the governor as Senator Uzodinma will dissolve the present cabinet  

Kanu is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup, and an Olympic Gold Medal he also won 86 caps and scored 13 goals for Super Eagles and was the joint most capped Nigerian player of all-time alongside Muda Lawal, until Joseph Yobo surpassed both players in 2012, winning his 87th cap.
