Senegal will face a rejuvenated Benin in the quarterfinals of the AFCON tournament in Egypt on Wednesday evening, here are the main facts you need to know ahead of the clash at the 30th June Stadium.

TEAM NEWS:

SENEGAL:

The Teranga Lions has no player down to injury or suspension ahead of the clash against Benin Republic, Aliou Cisse’s men are all intact for the clash on Wednesday.

BENIN:

Michel Dussuyer has his players ready and fit for the task ahead of meeting between Benin and Senegal for the Semi-final spot.

HEAD TO HEAD:

The nations have never met before in this tournament, but have met four times with Senegal winning three and drew one against The Squirrel.

Allow Cisse's men are in top form in this tournament, although to lose to Algeria in the group stage of the competition but their recent games show they have moved on having won two games after then against Kenya and Uganda respectively.

The Teranga Lions are considered as one of the favourites to win this tournament after the exit of the host nation Egypt and the defending Champions Cameroon.

BENIN:

The Squirrel has done so well to get this far for the first time in their history have defeated one of the tournament favourite Morocco in the second round.

The show that they are no a pushover in this year’s AFCON having survived the group stage and still going strong.
