Mauro Icardi celebrates one of his goals as Inter defeated Roma in Rome.

The 2017/18 Serie A season entered it second week over the weekend and champions Juventus are already occupying the top of the log with two games in. The Old Lady have maximum points from their opening two rounds of matches, so also are AC Milan, Napoli and Inter, with Sampdoria the odd one in, while Roma are the odd ones out.

We take a look at the results from the weekend.

AC Milan 2-1 Cagliari

The Rossonerri have spent big this summer as they look to reclaim the old days, and they have started well so far, with this game being their latest win of the season. Patrick Cutrone and Suso got the goals for Milan, as they made it two out of two. The result sees them occupy the fourth spot.

Roma 1-3 Inter

Inter Milan look really rejuvenated with Luciano Spalletti. The Inter manager returned to Roma, who he coached last season, and showed his former side who the master is, with this impressive result in the capital. The Nerazzuri are now second on the table, as goals from Vecino and a brace from Mauro Icardi sealing the win, with Edin Dzeko’s opener proving only a consolation in the end.

Genoa 2-4 Juventus

The champions made it two out of two with this win over Genoa. Knowing how competitive Serie A might be this season, the Old Lady has hit the ground running, and sit atop the log, even if it is based on goals difference. Paulo Dybala scored a hat-trick, with Juan Cuadrado’s goal coming in between.

Napoli 3-1 Atalanta

Napoli came close to catching Juventus last season, but ended up third. However, Maurizio Sarri is proving he is not a fluke as they have started this season brightly, getting maximum points from their opening games.
