Serie A entered its third week, and there has been some very interesting results already. Of course, Juventus still look like the team to beat, despite the improvements made in the summer by their other rivals, but the most shocking result of the weekend involves one of the teams expected to challenge for the title after a summer spending spree – AC Milan.

We take you through how it went down in one of Europe’s finest leagues over the weekend as club football returned from the international break.

Lazio 4-1 AC Milan

This has got to be the result of the weekend in Serie A. Not to say Milan were not expected to lose a game this season given their transfer outlay in the summer, but losing by such a margin to Lazio – not Juventus or Napoli – is not something the Milanista would have enjoyed. The result now sees them seventh on the log.

Juventus 3-0 Chievo

The Old Lady look unfazed by what is going on around them, they have simply continued from where they left off last season. A fine display at the Juventus Stadium saw them slice through Chievo with Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala scoring after a Hetemaj own goal had given them the lead. As expected, they lead the table.

Inter 2-0 Spal

Ivan Perisic celebrated his new deal with a late goal after Mauro Icardi had given the Nerrazzuri the lead from the spot. Nothing less was expected from the former Italian and European champions against the newly promoted side and they got the job done with ease.

Other Results.

Bologna 0-3 Napoli

Benevento 0-1 Torino

Atalanta 2-1 Sassuolo

Cagliari 1-0 Crotone

Udinese 1-0 Genoa

Verona 0-5 Fiorentina
