Gonzalo Higuain scored a brace to help Juventus beat Torino 3-1 in the Turin derby.

Week 16 of the 2016/17 Serie A league season went by last weekend, with some scare for leaders and champions Juventus in the Turin derby. There were also some big results for one of the title hopefuls. However, the biggest game of the round will take place today, as the race to dethrone the Old Lady continues.

Let’s take you through how it all went down this past weekend in Italy’s top flight.

Torino 1-3 Juventus

The Turin derby, and Juve were down within 16 minutes. Gonzalo Higuain equalized shortly after though, with the Argentine scoring a late second and Miralem Pjanic scoring another late one to seal the win. The win means the Old Lady maintain their firm grip at the top of the table.

Inter 2-0 Genoa

Inter’s rollercoaster season continued, this time they got a win over Genoa. The former Italian champions have had a sorry spell so far this term, and this was a much needed win for their confidence. However, they’re still 8th on the table, 15 points off the top.

Cagliari 0-5 Napoli

Big win for Napoli, who seems to be returning to form after a few weeks of being out of sorts. This result catapulted them to 4th on the log, eight points off Juventus at the top.
