Napoli continued their impressive start to the Serie A season with yet another win over the weekend, while champions Juventus recovered from last weekend’s shock defeat to Sampdoria. Inter Milan also kept pace with Napoli at the top of the table, but both Roma and Milan stuttered.

Welcome to the very interesting world of Serie A. Here, we take a look at how the games panned out at the weekend and the implications on the table.

Genoa 1-1 Roma

The capital club failed to secure maximum points at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. They had gone ahead via Stephan El Shaarawy in the second half, but Lapadula leveled for the home side just over 10 minutes later. The draw means Roma are fourth on the table with 31 points from 13 games.

Juventus 3-0 Crotone

Mario Mandzukic, Matteo De Sciglio and Mehdi Benatia scored the goals as the Old Lady recovered from last weekend’s setback. Didn’t seem easy at first, but in the end it was nothing short of an easy win, which keeps Juve in third place, but four points adrift of leaders Napoli.

Milan 0-0 Torino

Milan’s stuttering start to the season continued at the San Siro as they failed to cancel an impressive Torino side. Vincenzo Montella must be very scared now, as he might become the latest manager to get the boot. With this result, the Rossonerri sit seventh, a clear 11 points adrift of the final Champions League spot.

Cagliari 1-3 Inter

Luciano Spalletti’s impressive start at Inter continued as they earned all three points at the Sardegna Arena. The Nerazzuri sit second with this win, just two points behind leaders Napoli and two better than champions Juventus.

Udinese 0-1 Napoli

Jorginho’s 33rd minute goal was the difference here, as Napoli continue to march toward a possible Serie A title at the end of the season. The win also meant they maintained their position at the top of the table, two points better than closest rival Inter, and four more than champions Juventus.
