AC Milan players celebrate scoring a goal. They have now closed the gap at the top to four points.
What a weekend it was in Serie A, some very interesting results recorded, unexpected even, as the race to the title continues.
As it is every Monday, we take you through how it all went down in Italy’s top-flight over the weekend here.
Genoa 3-1 Juventus
The most shocking result of the weekend, as Juve suffered a rare defeat. The Old Lady were even down 3-0 at some point, but the consolation goal added some respectability to the scoreline. The result notwithstanding, they still remain top of the table but the defeat means their lead has been cut to four points.
Roma 3-2 Pescara
Roma closed the gap on Juventus to four points, after the Biaconneri suffered a rare defeat. The capital club had to dig in to get this win, as they were seriously pushed by Pescara.
Empoli 1-4 AC Milan
Milan’s resurgence continued apace, as they smashed their host over the weekend. Vincenzo Montella appears to be doing a fine job at the San Siro, and the win means they are third on the table, equal on points with second-placed Milan, and four points adrift of the top.
Bologna 0-2 Atalanta
Cagliari 2-1 Udinese
Crotone 1-1 Sampdoria
Palermo 0-1 Lazio
Torino 2-1 Chievo
Napoli v Sassuolo
Inter v Fiorentina
