Serie A Wrap: Napoli and Juve tie | Roma close in

Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Napoli in Serie A over the weekend.

Serie A entered its matchday 30 over the weekend, with some very interesting results. And with only eight games now left before the end of the season, Juventus’ title hopes were slightly dented after they failed to get maximum points over the weekend.

Meanwhile, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma were also in the fray, as we take you through how it all went down in Italy’s top-flight over the weekend.

Napoli 1-1 Juventus

The game of the weekend. And it ended up without producing a winner, a result that must delight Roma, who won their game to maintain a tight hold on second place and keep whatever faint hopes of snatching the title from the champions. Sami Khedira opened scoring for the Old Lady in the seventh minute, but Marek Hamsik’s 60th minute goal made sure there were no victors in this one.

Roma 2-0 Empoli

Roma were obviously the biggest beneficiaries of Juventus’ slip at Napoli. This result means they are now six months adrift of the Old Lady and with eight games left to play, the capital club must believe they can pull one over the table-toppers. Edin Dzeko scored a brace in what could be the most significant result in their season.

Pescara 1-1 AC Milan

With just eight games left to the end of the season, seventh-placed Milan must know they cannot afford any more slip ups if they hope to make it to Europe next season.
