Serie A Wrap: Napoli close gap on Roma but Juve soars

Napoli are now within a point of second in Serie A after they beat Torino 5-3.

Juventus overcame a stern test of their character to remain top of the table as another round of games in Serie A were decided over the weekend.

There were also some other interesting results from the weekend, as we take a look at how it panned out in Italy’s top flight over the weekend.

Juventus 1-0 Roma

The star match of the weekend, as first met second in Serie A, and it was the defending champions who smiled home in the end with maximum points. Gonzalo Higuain’s 14th minute goal was all they needed to stretch their lead at the top to seven points.

AC Milan 0-0 Atalanta

Milan’s resurgence was halted when they were held to a goalless draw at the San Siro. The Rossoneri couldn’t break down their visitors and they missed a chance match Roma on the same number of points.

Napoli 5-3 Torino

The Naples club took advantage of Milan and Roma’s faltering to advance their title ambitions and climb to third on the table and are now within a point of Roma in second place.

Sassuolo 0-1 Inter

Inter recorded an unliley win at Sassuolo to move to 7th on the log but are still seven points off the Champions League places.
