SHOCKER! Man United beat City to top of Premier League table

Despite not winning the Premier League title this term, Manchester United are in line to pocket the most money in the English top flight this season because they have been more popular with broadcasters than champions Manchester City.The Red Devils have had more games shown on TV this term – 28 times, which is same as Arsenal – compared to City’s 25, by broadcasters Sky Sports and BT Sport.And an estimate of how much each club in the top-flight is set to take home this season has been made and United can expect around £148.9million while City stand to make £147.4m, according to the Daily Mail.
HOW TV MONEY IS SHARED?Each Premier League club receives an equal share of around £79.15m as a base fee. Clubs also receive a minimum of £12.38m for being shown on Sky Sports and BT Sport and then receive an extra £1.14m for each TV game above 10 games. Clubs also receive more money depending on where they finish in the Premier League table – with an extra £1.94m per position up the final standings. Meanwhile, Stoke, West Brom and Swansea — the three clubs dropping down to the Championship — will take home close to £100m.With the Premier League under the same TV deal as last season, each position in the table is set to be worth around £1.94million.
