PSG captain Thiago Silva has spoken on the absence of striker Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore from the squad after the pair resumed late from their winter break, though the defender would like to welcome the pair back into the squad.

Cavani is the club leading scoring scorer with 19 goals for the Ligue 1 leaders so far this season, Pastore has not been able to reignite the form that made PSG signed him years back

The Uruguayan forward and Pastore was left out of the squad in the 2-0 against Amiens during the midweek due to their late return from their winter break.

They were also not included in the squad in the 6-1 thrashing of Rennes in Coupe de France due to late arrival from the break to the French capital.

Silva spoke on the situation while he talked up the importance of PSG's leading scorer Cavani.

"They will come back, the coach and the club will give them the opportunity to come back," Brazilian defender Silva said.

"This is a very important moment for the club, we must stay together, even if they made a gesture that was not good for the group and the club.

"It is important to come back as soon as possible. It was an important moment for the club, we must think before making gestures like that, it's not good for everyone.
