David Silva was the hero of the night for Manchester City against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium as he scores a brace to help the Cityzens to defeat the Potters 2-0 in the Premier League on Monday night.

Manchester City started the game in their normal mode, pure attacking style as Raheem Sterling found David Silva in the Stoke City area to give Manchester City the lead in the 10th minute of play in the Bet365 Stadium.

Manchester City almost got another goal through Nicolas Otamendi but his effort was blocked. Stoke City also made an attempt to get the equaliser but Badou Ndiaye strike was blocked by Manchester City defence.

The Premier League leaders continued to press in a bid to get the second goal as Fernandinho fired in a strike but his effort failed to hit the target.

Stoke City are also trying their best to get at least a point out of this game as they struggle to avoid relegation to the Championship next season but it seems their best is not enough yet.

Manchester City pushed forward but Leroy Sane finish was wide and it went off the mark.

the first half ended with Manchester City taking a 1-0 narrow lead against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium.

the second half started with City pushing further to get the second goal and it finally paid off as Gabriel Jesus connected well with David Silva for the Spanish international to get the second of the night for Pep Guardiola side in the 50th minute of the match.

Paul Lambert made his first substitution as he brought Peter Crouch for Jesse in the 63rd minute of the game. Joe Allen was booked for the home side in the 73rd minute of the encounter.

And in the 85th minute, Pep Guardiola made his first sub as he brought in Bernaedosilva for Raheem Sterling.

The away team was able to protect the lead as Stoke City go down deep in the relegation battle.
