A yet incomplete Super Eagles on the verge of the World Cup

Super Eagles officials have said the knock suffered yesterday in training by Elderson Echiejile is nothing serious.

The Turkey-based left-back suffered a knock in Tuesday’s training session, and there were initial concerns he could be ruled out of the World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Saturday.

“Elderson hurt his ankle in training and did not complete the training, but it is not serious. He is fit for the next training,” said Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye.

Chelsea loanee Ola Aina, who is yet to make his debut for the Eagles, will be a last-minute replacement should Elderson not be fit for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo.

The Eagles will train this evening inside the mainbowl of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium after they worked out at the practice pitch yesterday.

The team will have a press conference tomorrow morning.
