Super Eagles midfielder back to training after illness

Super Eagles midfielder Uche Agbo has returned to training with his new side Rayo Vallecano after recovering from illness after he was recently admitted in the hospital.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international returned to La Liga for the second time after he completed his loan switch from Belgian club Standard Liege to struggling Los Franjirrojos on transfer deadline day.

Agbo watch from the stand as fellow Super Eagles star Kenneth Omeruo side CD Leganes beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 La Liga encounter last Monday night.

Former Taraba versatile star told SCORENigeria: "Yes, I was in sick bay for some time, but I thank God that I am actually recovering fast.

"It’s a thing of the past now for me, I am looking forward to settling down in my new club here in Spain.

"For now I am just doing more of physical work out at the gym, trying to regain my fitness after being off training for four straight days.

"I would have played the match against CD Leganes but for the illness.”

Uche Agbo, who is on loan at Rayo till the end of the season from Standard Liege, also disclosed he was pleased to meet up with Omeruo in Spain.

"It was great for me to meet with Kenneth Omeruo again after a long while in the dressing room (on Monday),” 

"It’s also great that our clubs are based in Madrid, this will make it easier for me to settle down knowing full well that my Nigerian brother is close by.”

Agbo hopes get some action in next Rayo Vallecano fixture against Espanyol in the La Liga on Saturday evening.
