Super Eagles new boy reacts to play against President Weah

Super Eagles new boy Samuel Kalu has reacted to have played with President of Liberia George Weah in Tuesday’s exhibition match at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia.

The 21-year-old Bordeaux winger describes that it was s huge motivation for him to be in the same pitch with 1995 World Footballer of the Year.

Kalu made who made his Nigeria debut last weekend in 3-0 over Seychelles and also featured in the 2-1 victory Liberia as Weah number 14 jersey was retired after the encounter.

Former Gent star said "I couldn’t follow him much when he was playing, but I could see some of his skills from the videos I have seen of him..

"He’s a legend, a world-class player.

"It was a big motivation to play against him.”

He said despite the 51-year-old Weah being part of the Lone Star in last night’s game, the Eagles wanted to win the game.

"We want to win any match we play,” he maintained.

Kalu was outstanding on his debut against Seychelles on Saturday in a 2019 AFCON qualifier.

"It was great to represent Nigeria, this is a good step for me in the national team,” he added.

 Kalu will hoping for to be called in the next Super Eagles Acon qualifer aganst Libya next month.
