Mikel set to return to Super Eagles ahead of AFCON 2019

Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has share rare glimpse of the trophy cabinet few weeks ahead of 2019 Africa Nations Cup in Egypt.

The 32-year-old midfielder spent the second half of the recently concluded season at Middlesbrough as they finished seventh on the Championship table after the regular season but the Nigeria international earned the respect of his club following his superb performances during his short spell at the Riverside Stadium. 

Mikel took to his Instagram to share a rare glimpse of his trophy ladened honors cabinet which includes Premier League medals, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, Caraboa Cup, AFCON and Olympic Bronze medal.

Mikel has been included in Gernot Rohr 27 man provisional squad for the 2019 AFCON after playing 18 times and scoring one goal since joining Middlesbrough in the winter transfer window from Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA.
