Super Eagles forward Nnamdi Oduamadi has reacted after scoring his first goal of the season on his return from a career-threatening knee ligament injury for Tirana in their 3-1 win away at Teuta in the Albania League on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international tore knee ligament while in action for Tirana five months ago and underwent career-saving surgery, drew the biggest cheer of the encounter when he shot his side into the lead four minutes before the break.

Goals from Erando Karabeci and Edon Hasani secured a comfortable win for Tirana after Sekou Camara has drawn the hosts level in the 72nd minute.

Oduamadi told "I’m really happy to feel like a footballer again and play once more with Tirana. It was very important for me.

“I couldn’t have hoped for a better start to my return from injury. I was given the opportunity to play again and I had the chance to score a goal. That makes me even happier.”

Oduamadi has played six games since joining the club last summer on a free and Tirana are currently eight in the Albania top flight division and will face Kukesi in their next game at home on Saturday.
