Super Eagles star resumes pre-season training at Benfica

Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi has resumed pre-season training with his new club Benfica after 2018 FIFA World Cup exit in Russia.

The 22-year-old who rejected a new contract from Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag to pen a five-year deal with Portuguese giants in the summer transfer window.

According to the club official website, Nigeria international arrived the morning training session early as he adapted quickly and participated in another demanding exercise but he was welcomed by his new teammate.

Aguias new recruit Ebuehi will have an evening training session with the rest of his teammates again and Benfica fans will be allowed to watch him for the first fifteen minutes of the workout but former Den Haag star was handed the number 23 jersey for the 2018-19 season.

Two-time Champions League winner will start their pre-season friendly with fellow Primera Liga side Vitoria Setubal before facing Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Olympique Lyonnais

Benfica begins their 2018-19 campaign against Vitória Guimarães in a month's time as the Aguias will also be competing in next season’s UEFA Champions League, after finishing second in the league.
