Super Eagles star says no hard feelings after World Cup snub

Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode has revealed that he does not have any hard feelings after being snubbed by manager Gernot Rohr in the 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup in Russia.

The 25-year-old just won a Ukraine League and Cup with Shakhtar Donetsk after he joined in early March from Manchester City on loan until the end of the season and gone to scored three goals from five appearances for The Miners.

Kayode have a difficult first half of the season with Girona before finishing the season with Shakhtar Donetsk said he would have liked to play in next month tournament, but said the German tactician has the final responsibility to pick the team.

"World Cup is a dream of every football player, I’m no exception. It’s my dream to play at World Cup in Russia, but the coach has the right to pick whoever he thinks he needs at a particular point,”.

"I wish all the invited players best of luck,” told ScoreNigeria.

Kayode made his debut for Nigeria in a friendly 1-1 tie with Senegal on 23 March 2017 and has added three caps with no goal.
