Super Eagles star wins Player of the Month Award in Scotland

Forgotten Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose wins Player of the Month Award for his Scottish club Hibernian for September.

The 29-year-old Nigeria international played all of The Cabbage's games last month where they managed three wins and two losses in five matches across all competitions.

Ambrose amassed 58%of the total votes to beat Hibernian teammates Adam Bogdan, Mark Milligan and Martin Boyle to the monthly accolade.

Neil Lennon’s side are yet to concede a goal in their last four games with former Kaduna and Bayelsa center-back playing a major role in the back that earned them four successive clean sheet against Dundee, Aberdeen, St Mirren and Hamilton.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner who has 51 caps for the Super Eagles has not been called up to the national team since March 2016.

Ambrose has played16 games for Hibernian this season including eight times in the Europa League where he has scored two goals.
