One of the players being courted by Coach Genort Rohr for the Super Eagles ahead of next year's World Cup in Russia, Kevin Akpoguma has extended his contract with German Bundesliga outfit TSG Hoffenheim.
TSG Hoffenheim on Monday confirmed this latest development on their official website via a statement.
The new deal signed by Akpoguma who majorly plays as a central defender will keep him at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena until at least the end of the 2020-2021 season if both parties honour
this latest agreement.

Akpoguma, 22 has his Bundesliga debut on October 22, 2017
when he replaced Stefan Posch in Hoffenheim's 1–1 draw with VfL Wolfsburg,
and has since had nine appearances under his belt to date.
''For me, TSG is the perfect club for me to continue to develop and establish myself in the Bundesliga,'' Akpoguma told Hoffenheim's official website.
''I find here an ambitious environment that gives young players the chance to improve and grow. ''
Akpoguma joined Hoffenheim from Karlsruher SC in 2013 and spent the whole of last season on loan at second-tier Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Hoffenheim are presently occupying the 7th spot on the Bundesliga standings.
Coach Rohr is hoping to convince the defender to represent the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia but initial reports suggest Akpoguma will rather bid time to play for the German national team.
