The team will be without strikers Mfon Udoh and Sunday Adetunji for their CHAN Qualifier against Benin Republic this weekend.

As earlier reported, Enyimba striker Mfon Udoh has been ruled out of this weekend’s CHAN playoff in Benin due to injury, while officials of the home-based Eagles have also rued the absence of Abia Warriors striker Sunday Adetunji, who is also sidelined by injury.

“Injury has ruled out Mfon Udoh from the match in Cotonou, but we are still hopeful he could be back for the second leg in Kano,” a team official informed SCORENigeria

NPFL all-time leading scorer Mfon Udoh sat out yesterday’s training in Kano after he suffered an injury during the CHAN Eagles warm-up game against a Kano Selected XI Tuesday.

Team officials have also expressed regret Adetunji will miss Sunday’s CHAN qualifier in Cotonou after he fractured his hand at the weekend at Lobi Stars.

“Sunday is in the form of his life and we will really miss him in our attack,” a team official told SCORENigeria

The Abia Warriors striker has netted 14 goals, but he is now effectively ruled out for the rest of the season.
