Who is better between Real Madrid's BBC and Barcelona's MSN?
The question will never go away: who is better between Real Madrid’s holy trinity – Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo, the BBC – or Barcelona’s own holy trinity – Messi, Suarez and Neymar, the MSN.
Although, Neymar will be missing from the El Clasico this weekend through suspension, it doesn’t stop the comparison being made all season on who is better between both side’s attacking trio.
The next edition of the El Clasico will probably be the most important in recent seasons, and the above-mentioned players will be expected to play key roles for their teams in what could decide where the title will head this season.
Real are top of La Liga with a three point advantage over their fierce rivals, and have a game advantage over Barca, so the clash this weekend may mean more to the Catalonians than it is to Los Blancos, but still, there will never be a time when the El Clasico wouldn’t mean much in equal measure to both sides, if not for anything, for pride and bragging rights.
It has also been a contrasting last couple of days for both sides as Barca were sent packing from the Champions League at the quarterfinal stage, Real progressed and will face city rivals Atletico in the semifinals next month.
But back to the crux of the matter, who has been better so far this season? The BBC or the MSN?
As of the 19th of this month, the MSN have made 131 appearances, contributed 46 assists and 92 goals, while the BBC have appeared 103 times, made 20 assists and scored 57 goals, all these coming from games in all competitions.
But when it is broken down, in La Liga, the MSN have made 84 appearances, creating 28 assists and scoring 62 goals. For the BBC, they have made 66 appearances, creating 11 assists and scoring 35 goals in the process.
And in the Champions League, the MSN have 27 appearances between them, scored 18 goals and created 12 assists. The BBC on their part, have made 27 appearances in the same competition this season, scoring 14 goals and creating seven assists.
And in other cup competitions, Barca’s holy trinity have made 20 appearances, providing six assists and scoring 12 goals. Real’s holy trinity on their part, have made only 10 appearances in this category, created two assists and scored eight goals.
While this may count for nothing when the clash comes up this weekend, but it is clear that statistically, the MSN have been the better trifecta when compared to the BBC.
