Top 10 Betting tips of the weekend

Hello football fans as we gear up for the games this weekend, FCNaija have compiled betting tips across the top major Leagues. Who is excited already?

Without further ado, take a view at our top 10 weekend Betting Tips in the GALLERY below:

1, Burnley vs Leicester

Burnley can take a big step towards qualifying for next season's Europa League when they host Leicester City on Saturday at Turf Moore.

Having won their last four games in a row, the seventh-placed Clarets are six points ahead of the Foxes with six games left to play and Burnley can secure European football next term if they end up seventh spot in the league, provided Southampton do not win the FA Cup.

Leicester have won their last two away league games, while Burnley will be looking to win five Premier League games on the bounce.

Burnley are on an emphatic run having won 4 on the bounce while Leicester seems to blow hot and cold in recent months. Still, with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Chris Wood on either end of the field, we must expect an open contest on Saturday evening.

With the current, form of the home side, the game will be scoring encounter and Burnley has scored and conceded in 5 of their last 7 home games whereas Leicester in 10 of the last 12 travels.

Prediction: Burnley 2-1 Leicester

2, Atlanta vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan are outside of the Champions League spots following a defeat in Serie A last weekend, as they went down 1-0 to Torino. They face another tough trip this weekend, as they visit Atalanta; another side who are in the reckoning for a European place.

Inter come here with one victory in their last nine away trips, so it’s easy to see why they’ve not yet wrapped up a place in the Champions League. Despite a really strong start to the campaign, Luciano Spalletti’s men have been found wanting, despite their lack of European football giving them a fitness edge over their top four rivals.

The Nerazzurri have their own issues on the road, having kept one clean sheet in their last six games away from San Siro and they have conceded in 67% of their away trips, while they’ve kept just two clean sheets at sides ranked outside the top seven.

Atalanta should use that to their advantage, having scored in 13 of their previous 14 league matches at home. These two have seen plenty of high scoring games, with their previous eight meetings at this ground seeing both teams find the back of the net.

Prediction: Atlanta 2-2 Inter

3, Celtic vs Rangers

Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers meet again as the fierce enemies face off in Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final.

Brendan Rodgers has enjoyed remarkable success since taking over as Celtic boss in 2016 and is aiming for what would be a historic second successive domestic treble.

The Northern Irishman has yet to lose in nine Old Firm fixtures during his tenure in Glasgow, winning seven of them - but Rangers would dearly love to dent their rivals' plans by boosting their own hopes of silverware in the process.

Graeme Murty's sides clash will be desperate to avenge the loss back in March which effectively ended their title challenge and picks up the first win over Celtic since 2012.

Celtic keeper Scott Bain and striker Leigh Griffiths are in contention to start, with No1 Craig Gordon lacking minutes

Griffiths has started the last three games on the bench but may get the nod ahead of Mousa Dembele upfront. Rangers are sweating on the fitness of Lee Wallace and Josh Windass who will be monitored through the week.

Prediction: Celtic 3-1 Rangers

4, Tottenham vs Man City

Manchester City head to Tottenham a wounded team after derby and Champions League heartache and the North London side will be looking to inflict a fourth straight defeat on Pep Guardiola team.

However, Cityzen are still 13 points clear at the top of the table and beat Spurs 4-1 last time they met but Premier League leaders must wait until Sunday when Manchester United host West Bromwich Albion to discover whether a win at Wembley will seal them the title.

Spurs have not lost in the league since that defeat in December and manager Mauricio Pochettino says City have set the benchmark this season.

With so much attacking talent on display we’re expecting goals as well. Manchester City have failed to score in just one away game in the Premier League all season, and Tottenham have scored an impressive 23 goals in their last eight home league games.

Manchester City are without top scorer Sergio Aguero (knee), while midfielder Fernandinho is also missing through suspension and defender John Stones is still troubled by a thigh problem.

Left-back Benjamin Mendy, out since September with knee ligament damage, also remains on the sidelines.

Danny Rose will miss out for Tottenham due to a calf injury, though his absence is not expected to be lengthy and midfielder Harry Winks is in Qatar seeking answers to an ankle injury while defender Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring) also misses out.

Spurs find themselves in promising form against City in recent years. Tottenham have lost just once in five Premier League meetings with the Citizens.

Pochettino's men have won out on the last two occasions when facing City at home, although that last victory came back in the first half of last season.

City won the reverse meeting 4-1 at the Etihad back in December to build from a 2-2 draw in Manchester when the sides met in January of last term.

Prediction: Spurs 2-2 Man City

5, Sevilla vs Villarreal

Sevilla are back to domestic affairs on Saturday when they host Villarreal in the direct clash for the Europa League spot next term.

Vincenzo Montella's side sit seventh in the table, 18 points off fourth, with a more realistic target being overtaking their opponents on Saturday afternoon but the home side quickly forgot the humiliating 4-0 defeat they had suffered last weekend away at Celta Vigo.

Overall, Sevilla struggled with their form in the most recent set of ties in Primera Division.

Villarreal have been deeply inconsistent this term with the latest setback came in the shape of a 3-1 home defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Monday night although they are still on course to secure European football for next season and are sat in sixth place.

Trips to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan have never been a pleasant occasion for Villarreal and Sevilla won 13, drew 3 and lost only 2 of 18 home outings against the Yellow Submarine

Los Rojiblancos came on top when the two teams met in this term of La Liga, clinching a 2-3 victory away at Estadio de la Ceramica.

Simon Kjaer will be missing for Sevilla, with the Danish defender facing a race against time to be fit for next weekend's Copa del Rey final.

For Villarreal, Pablo Fornals has been given the all-clear after fainting during last weekend's game against Athletic Bilbao, although it remains to be seen if he goes straight back into the team.

Prediction: Sevilla 1-0 Villarreal or Under 2.5

6, Schalke vs Dortmund

Schalke 04 host Borussia Dortmund for their Matchday 30 clash on Sunday afternoon looking for a return to the winning ways after a disappointing 3-2 loss at Hamburger SV, which saw them fail to build on the six-match winning streak.

Borussia Dortmund have struggled for consistency on the road and they haven’t earned an away win since mid-February but a recent 6-0 crushing on the road to Bayern Munich, Dortmund returned to winning ways with a well-deserved 3-0 win at home to Stuttgart last weekend.

BVB have been putting on fine displays, though, and we expect a similar challenge in Gelsenkirchen as derby clash shapes to be a very exciting contest, which could prove a crucial point in the top four chase.

Borussia Dortmund drew 4-4 at home to Schalke when the two sides last met in November. All of the last four meetings between Dortmund and Schalke have ended in a draw.

Prediction: Schalke 1-1 Dortmund

7, Lazio vs Roma

Lazio take on AS Roma in a Derby della Capitale with much more on the line than local bragging rights.

The teams currently sit third and fourth in Serie A and are separated by mere goal difference and should Inter Milan defeat Atalanta they will be guaranteed to overtake one or both of the Rome sides in the three horse race for the final two Champions League positions.

The result here will go a long way towards deciding the destiny of those vital spots in Europe’s elite competition

Roma stunned Barcelona on Tuesday night to secure their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time and City rivals Lazio, though, crashed out of the Europa League quarter-finals with a 6-5 aggregate defeat to Red Bull Salzburg.

Biancocelesti come into the week on a high after bagging four wins in their last five outings and seeing just one draw (1-1 against Bologna) along the way, looking very confident sitting just a point ahead of Inter and eight ahead of Milan.

Giallorossi now looks to build on it and finally retain consistency domestically too at a crucial time, with top 4 ambitions potentially hanging on success on the day.

We’ve come to get used to thriller clashes between the sides (with three or more goals seen in all of the three 2017 occasions) and this should shape to be another such day at Stadio Olimpico.

Roma have earned a narrow 2-1 win earlier this season and now hope to build on the success, taking on the 3rd placed rivals. Nonetheless, we have seen Lazio regularly score numbers of goals and many feel Over 2.5 Goals.

Prediction: Lazio 2-2 Roma

8, AC Milan vs Napoli

Napoli kept their title hopes alive with a last-gasp turnaround at home to Chievo last weekend. They struck in the 89th and 90th minutes to win 2-1 at the San Paolo, but now the Partenopei face a tricky visit to Milan.

With four points between them and a clash with Juventus coming the following weekend, defeat basically ends Napoli’s title hopes.

Following a frustrating draw with Sassuolo as the Neroverdi came back to haunt them yet again, Milan will hope to get back to winning ways as they host Napoli – but their bad track record against the Partenopei will certainly cause them some obvious concerns.

The Rossoneri have lost three of their last four games against Napoli at the Stadio San Siro, and worryingly for them, the visitors have the strongest away record in the division, with 12 wins so far.

The visitors have finally welcomed back Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik after another long-term injury lay-off, which gives them further attacking options up front. In addition to their excellent away record, Napoli have also been quite strong defensively all season, and have shipped just 21 goals. Only Juventus have done better.

Only eight of Napoli’s conceded goals have been on the road, which is another worrying fact for Milan, who were far from impressive against Inter. In fact, were it not for VAR and the Nerazzurri missing some gilt-edged chances, the Rossoneri would not have been able to settle for a nervy scoreless draw.

The visitors have Lorenzo Insigne to rely on this weekend, as the forward has scored six goals against AC Milan, five of which have come in his last five appearances against the Rossoneri, his favourite opponent in Serie A. He should continue that form in this trip, as we see him landing another goal at San Siro this weekend.

Prediction: Milan 1-2 Napoli

9, Barca vs Valencia

Barcelona will need to rally quickly from their shock defeat to Roma in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, as they face in-form Valencia in their next La Liga fixture.

Barcelona's unbeaten run in the league remains perhaps the only redeeming feature of their season and have a tough task to maintain it on Saturday.

Valencia are on an unbeaten run themselves and have overtaken Real Madrid to claim the third spot in the table. Los Che could sense an opportunity to cause another upset this weekend.

Barcelona have inflicted a number of heavy defeats on Valencia over the years. 7-0, 5-1, 6-0, and 4-0 have been some of the scorelines which Los Che may want to forget. But Valencia have occasionally got the better of Barca, such as the time they managed a 3-2 victory away from home in February 2014.

Barcelona were on a run of 25 successive wins at the Camp Nou and had not lost at home in the league since April 2012 before their meeting with Valencia.

Los Che are on course for their highest league finish since 2012. They will be aiming to make it 10 straight league games without defeat on Saturday.

Prediction: Barca 3-2 Valencia

10, PSG vs Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain have the chance to clinch the Ligue 1 title in memorable style when they welcome Monaco to the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

Having won the league in three successive seasons, Les Parisiens were last year dethroned by Leonardo Jardim's team.

However, Monaco will not want to be the unwilling participants in a celebratory atmosphere in Paris and they will be doing everything they can to avoid defeat.

Unai Emery looks certain to be removed as PSG Manager at the end of the season for his failure to advance in the Champions League, though he will be desperate to leave his mark in Paris by lifting the Ligue 1 title.

PSG have been untouchable at home in the league, winning 100% of their sixteen Ligue 1 contests at the Parc des Princes, which is the longest string of home victories in the club’s history.

PSG’s dominant Coupe de Ligue Final win over Monaco just two weeks ago will plant further seeds of doubt in the minds of the Les Monégasques. Edinson Cavani scored twice either side of an Angel Di Maria strike to seal an emphatic 3-0 win for Paris SG. More on Cavani later.

Monaco are unbeaten on their last eight Ligue 1 visits to the Parc des Princes, drawing six and winning two of their matches there. Their last defeat in the league in Paris came all the way back in 2007.

Prediction: PSG 3-2
