Tottenham Under 23 coach of Nigerian descent, Ugo Ehiogu was rushed to hospital today after he slumped at the club's training centre, the club have confirmed.

Tottenham tweeted: "We can confirm that Ugo Ehiogu is currently in hospital after collapsing at our Training Centre earlier today.

"Our Under-23s coach received immediate treatment on site from our medical staff before being transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The former England international has been at Spurs for almost three years since retiring from the game. Ehiogu, born in England of Nigerian parents, was capped four times by the Three Lions.

The 44-year old featured for Aston Villa, Midlesbrough, Leeds and Rangers during a 13-year playing career. He has also worked with the England Under 20 team.
