Transfer news: Arsenal hold talks with Ivorian star Seri

Arsenal bosses have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri amidst a potential formal approach this summer.

Seri who is an Ivory Coast international with 18 caps and 30 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring twice joined Nice from Pacos de Ferreira in 2015, after Seri having his youth career at ASEC Mimosas in his native country.

London rivals Chelsea are also interested in the midfielder who is rated at around £40m and nearly signed for Barcelona last summer and are monitoring developments.

Arsenal's director of football, Raul Sanllehi who spent 14 years at the Catalan club and current La Liga champions is said to have re-opened dialogue with agents who work on behalf of the player, according to Sky Sports.

Sanllehi rates Seri highly but the report says any deal to bring him to the Emirates will be delayed until after Arsenal have appointed their new manager.
