Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has blasted the squad home-grown players after the 3-0 shocking defeat to CSKA Moscow at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.

Coach Santiago Solari fielded the likes of Alvaro Odriozola, Javi Sanchez, Jesus Vallejo, Marcos Llorente, Federico Valverde, Vinicius and Marcos Asensio in the starting line-up against the Russian team and the gamble didn't pay off as Real Madrid were subjected to 3-0 in front of their home fans.

After the match, Carvajal who later captained the team after Marcelo was substituted reacts to the poor outing of the team against CSKA Moscow who defeated them in the first leg in Moscow, he opined that the young lads might not be worthy of the first team in order to prevent an outcome of this nature.

"Three weeks ago there was talk that the homegrown players could play," the defender told Movistar+.

"But it turns out that they might not worthy of the first team," according to the report in Marca.

Real Madrid will play Rayo Vallecano on Saturday before the team travel to Dubai to play in the FIFA World Club Cup.
