AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas has explained the reason why they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Tuesday night.
Manolas though admitted that his side was the better team but concluded that they failed to take their chances against the European Champions as they last the clinical finish to score a goal and Roma was poor at the defence that caused them two goals.

Real coach Solari makes blunt comments about Ronaldo's exit
“I can’t even say it was their first chance, as it was an unlucky ricochet and they scored a goal. We wasted three or four clear chances, we didn’t take the lead and they were clinical,” the Greek defender told Sky Sport
“After that, we fell away, it’s true, and they took control of the game. We are a young team, we need patience and have to earn a lot of experience.
“We were better than Real Madrid in the first half, a side that won the Champions League three years in a row, but if you are superior and don’t take your chances, you are going to lose.”
Roma will travel to Czech to play Viktoria Plzen while Real Madrid will host CSKA Moscow in their respective last game next month.
